The internal focus allows new interactions to take place along the perimeter, while the piazza becomes the central hub of the site. During our initial site analysis we were intrigued by the adjacent train stations and how the previous train station of the past, Stazione Leopolda has been transformed into an event space. The present train station, Firenze Santa Maria Novella, is at the peak of its use, but with the Proposed High Speed Train Station located nearby and projected to be completed in a few years, how will the present station be utilized?

On a map, the past, present, and future train stations are able to be connected by a triangle and surrounds our site. We then used these axis lines to define the form generation of our various buildings. The idea of past, present, and future translated into not only our building form, but also within the housing distribution.

As I worked on the housing program, I wanted to provide various types of housing to allow a wide variety of users to occupy the space. The "Housing: Past" consisted of more traditional condominiums that had all of the living spaces within. As the housing types progressed from "Past" to "Future", the living spaces became more communal to encourage interactions within the inhabitants.

Having more minimalistic living spaces, it forces people to get outside of their rooms and enjoy the dynamic piazza located within the central hub of the site. The "Housing: Future" apartments are divided up into neighborhood pods that provide you with a sense of community and focuses on the idea of co-living and community spaces.

The Proposed High Speed Train Station is built at the -2 Level and so we designed an entry sequence that would allow people to move up from the platform level and into the ground level of our central piazza. From there, the public can then utilize the various programs found on the site including a local market, public and private offices, and a hotel. The public and the public are able to interact within and a new hub of activity is given back to the people of Florence.

Role: Project Manager. For three days, we had events that helped showcase the role CSU has had within the heart of Florence. Architecture is one of the first majors that came overseas to study in the heart of the Renaissance and so we had an exhibition to showcase all of the work from the past 50 years.

Cristiano Toraldo di Francia of Italy's internationally renowned Superstudio was one of the founding professors of our program. The main grid is over 13 feet tall and within frames digital presentation boards and analog models from the past 50 years.

Modular cubes are placed throughout the room for people to interact with the work and acts as stands for the models to sit upon. With 28 architecture students from Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo and Pomona we had to design and engineer, purchase the materials, and construct the installation on time and within the budget. Finishing up our Viale Belfiore project before our Spring Break, we only had 10 days upon our return to construct the final architecture installation.

Coordinating with so many people proved to be extremely difficult so I took up the role as the Project Manager. I divided up everyone within our studio into a different committee. Each committee had a lead that was assigned to manage the various team members and make sure the expectations were met and that everything was clearly communicated. Best of luck with your portfolio submissions and interviews and we look forward to welcoming you to the Bartlett soon!

I studied my undergraduate degree at Newcastle University before applying to The Bartlett and commencing my studies in Be you What do you want to show the interviewer? Where will your interview be taking place — in person or online? Prepare your content appropriately. When will the interview be taking place — could you include extra work that you have completed since you finished your undergraduate degree?

Is it possible to include work which showcases similar interests? Keep it short Often in an interview, you get a maximum of 5 minutes to present your work. The interview is your opportunity to bring your personality to the portfolio, as it will have already been reviewed by a panel You will not have the time to go through every single thing, so make sure to summarise effectively.

The original Assembly Rooms building is an iconic brutalist building that has yet to be repaired from the fire damage. The proposal seeks to celebrate its brutalist form with a respectful yet modern renovation that helps reinvigorate the surrounding spaces and provide new uses for the community.

This is so that people can see the inner workings of a operating fly tower during a performance. This bold architectural statement also intends to attract people into the centre of Derby as the tower will be clad in copper.

The building contains a sorting room in the basement which organises and distributes parcels to the drones on the roof level. Delivery, Recreational and Food delivery. This represents the 3 growing industries of drone use and each provide a service for the city of Derby and the surrounding area.

The idea is to bring life to the high street through an innovative design that allows people to follow the journey of their package by dropping off their parcel and watch it get sorted and then shipped by the drones. The Towers also provide a public park away form the high street and provides a spot to watch the drones fly overhead whilst being served food delivered form one of the drones.

Local wildlife has been considered with green roofs and trees planted throughout the area. The building is located in a busy high street area and provides a great opportunity for Derby to be the frontrunners in the future of drone delivery. This allows for large open plan internal spaces that contain sorting rooms, drone storage and the roof level distribution room. Expanding on the growing trend of microbreweries in Derby, this design aims to house several breweries within a public park to establish a cultural centre to one of the cities most successful industries.

Retaining the park by pushing the public space upwards to form a roof that acts as a bridge, whilst having a brewery function underneath. The steel frame chimney allows for people to safely walk through into a greenhouse. The CO2 is emitted above from the top of the chimney and is stored to release in one aesthetic smoke cloud. Circulation is organised to run throughout the whole design and act as way to exhibit the brewery to visitors whilst being the most efficient way for workers to travel within the brewery.

Many of my paintings contain themes of architecture, while others depict still life objects used alongside an abstract style to illustrate a meaningful response. These artworks draw inspiration from artists such as Picasso, and the art movement of Cubism.

Pressure for available land and the demand for luxury apartments has kick-started a super skinny revolution, resulting in some spectacular feats of engineering.

Has New York birthed a new generation of skyscrapers? Will the structures branch out to cities worldwide? To answer these questions, we need to understand what defines a pencil tower, the history behind them, and the premise for having these surreal structures.

A slim skyscraper is defined when its top roof height is seven times its width at its widest point on the ground level. In the past this was considered the limit to which a building could reach, while remaining rigid enough not to sway in the wind, potentially causing unease or motion sickness to its occupants. In April I travelled to South Africa to assist in the build of the winning design. This enhanced my construction skills and knowledge of technical elements within a building.

RRA has been working alongside Dowdeswell Estates Building Contractors to develop the former Cheltenham Corporation Water Works and neighbouring industrial park, The Barlands, into a diverse and exciting destination spot combining outdoor activities for visitors of all ages and celebrating artisan produce and skills. Phase one: which included the Dunkertons Cider manufacturing, warehousing and retail facility has been completed. The introduction of Cotswold stone walling and large format timber cladding boards is sympathetic to the context of the setting within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Phase two: The next phase of works includes the complete refurbishment of a derelict Pump House along with extensive refurbishment and conversion of subterranean storage tanks.
